The group leader break person is responsible for giving each teacher a break and lunch in accord with the mission of Mercy Employee Child Care Center. To assist with planning and conducting a program to meet the physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs of each child.

What You Bring/Job Requirements

Education: One of the following options:

  • Bachelor’s (4 year) degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Special Education, Family and Child Development, or Child Psychology

  • An Associate’s (2 year) degree in child development or early childhood education

  • Current certification as a Child Development Associate (CDA) or certified Child Care Professional (CCP) or other Development approved credential

  • Completion of two years of college education (60 semester credit hours) with at least one college course in child development

  • Twelve semester hours in college-level credits in child growth and development and/or early childhood education

  • Completion of a course of training approved by the Department that includes training and work experience with children

  • Completion of a vocational or occupational education sequence in child growth and development

  • A current Colorado Level I credential or two three credit college course with one course being Introduction to Early Child hood Education

  • 910 hours ofverifiedexperience in the care and supervision of four or more children six years of age who are not related to the individual

  • 24 months (3640 hours) ofverifiedexperienceas noted in D

License/Certification: Documentation of group leader qualifications and ability to pass both Central Registry Inquiry and Colorado Bureau of Investigation fingerprint check. Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint check is also required if employee has not lived in Colorado for a year
